Since I’m updating everything, I decided I’ll do a quick update here as well.
Have I been learning more languages now that I’ve finished all the Latin modules on the Duolingo tree?
Nope! In fact, I’m learning LESS.
Let me explain. After I completed everything, I was beset by fear that I would lose my Latin acquisition. So I have been doing the Latin hard practice exercises every day (you get 20 marks per hard practice exercise), and I have also been reading Lingua Latina Per Se Illustrata and it’s not quite the natural method since I’ve done so many rounds of Latin on Duolingo, but it’s really helping me to apply my learning and that really helps!
I’m therefore feeling way more confident about Latin now and will continue doing this for the rest of the year. The problem with this is that Latin used to be weekend learning, French everyday learning and Welsh weekday learning. Now, I’m learning Latin and French daily, so Welsh has been a bit neglected.
Can’t do anything about this for now but in April I hope to return to learning Welsh at least 2 days a week. I should probably return to Greek before I forget everything also.
